Where can I bush walk in the Whitsundays?

July 26, 2015 By Airlie Beach Online

26 Jul

On the mainland of Airlie Beach there are quite a few bush walks in the Conway Range National Park.  You can take the local bus to Shute Harbour and there is the Swamp Bay and Mt Rooper walking tracks.  Swamp Bay is 4.2klm return and Mt Rooper is 5.4klm circuit.

The Great Whitsunday Walk starts at Cedar Creek Falls and is 28 kilometres long.  You would need to get someone to drop you off so that you end up back in Airlie Beach or you can start the walk at the Kara Crescent access point in Airlie Beach and walk approximately 2 hours up hill to a wonderful lookout over the Whitsundays.  The Great Whitsunday Walk is known for having running events during the dry season and bicycles are also allowed on the track.

The Airlie Creek track is located off Waterson Way and is a short walk of approximately 30 minutes.

South Molle Island is another great walking area that many of my guests talk about.  Depending on the tides for each day, it is possible to take the water taxi over early in the morning and return mid afternoon.  You need a minimum of 2 people to travel if there are not other guests going over and the price starts at $65.00 per person return.

Contact www.airliebeachonline.com au to enquire about bush walking and all your tour enquiries in the #Whitsundays and #Airlie Beach.
