Can I see crocodiles in the Whitsundays?

You sure can and in their own habitat on the Proserpine River. The Crocodile Safari will meet you at your accommodation and take you out to Proserpine where you will board a boat and motor quietly up and down the river to identify the crocodiles. Nature has its amazing ways of blending the fauna and flora that you really have to concentrate on what you are looking for.  A BBQ lunch is a great Australian way to enjoy the day with family and make new friends.  The staff will take you on a tractor ride through the landscape to identify the bird life and wildlife that we live amongst in our beautiful country.

There is also another day tour that departs from Airlie Beach to take you to a private farm 40 minutes away.  Here you will handle a baby crocodile, hold a koala, pat a snake and see how the Barefoot Bushman interacts with the animals on his farm. You will discover some new creatures and others that have been around for many years.

Both of these tours offer so much information about the crocodiles that one of the items I discovered, was that a female crocodile can swallow its own teeth when in need of calcium during pregnancy, as it can grow its own teeth many times. So many interesting facts to absorb!

Best time to see many crocodiles is in the winter months as the crocs like to get out in the sun to keep themselves warm.  Take this link to read more; http://airliebeachonline.com.au/whitsunday-tour/full-day-whitsunday-crocodile-safari/
