Whale migration to Whitsundays

June 17, 2015 By Airlie Beach Online

17 Jun

It is now the time of year (June, July, August, September ) where the whale migration is heading towards the Whitsundays and our beautiful playground for everyone to see. They will pass Surfers Paradise and Hervey Bay as two other destinations to see the whales playing.

The day tours in the Whitsundays, will often experience seeing the whales, as they navigate through the waterways to visit the top snorkelling sites and Whitehaven Beach. Don’t forget the Great Barrier Reef tours.

I have been very lucky living in the Whitsundays since 2007 and saw my first whale on a Great Barrier Reef tour, then just last year I was out on my birthday with Derwent Hunter in September, and it was a magical day seeing whales and pods of dolphins all in one day, one I will never forget!

It is a sight to see when a whale breaches in the beautiful waters and something you have to place on your ‘TO DO’ list.
