Visiting the islands in the Whitsundays.

July 11, 2015 By Airlie Beach Online

11 Jul

Can we visit the islands when we go to Whitehaven Beach?  Out of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays group you will travel past quite a few islands with the majority being nationals parks.  If you want to stop on an island, you can visit Daydream Island, Hamilton Island, Palm Bay resort as day guests.  There is a ferry service from the mainland, Airlie Beach to Daydream Island and Hamilton Island.  Palm Bay is currently being serviced by the Island Transfer fast boat until Long Island is completed renovations (2016 approximately) and returned to the ferry service.

Hayman Island is not available to day guests.  Currently, Long Island is being renovated throughout 2015, South Molle is not accessible by any of the ferries.

There are day tours that incorporate Whitehaven Beach and Hamilton Island, Whitehaven Beach and Daydream Island and Whitehaven Beach, Hamilton Island and Daydream Island.  The other day tours in the Whitsundays will not be able to access Hamilton Island and Daydream Island as they are under contract between suppliers or the ferry service and the island owners.

If you wish to camp on any of the national parks on Whitsunday Island, Hook Island or the Molle Group, there is an Island Transfer service available for these campers.

Our tour website www.airliebeachonline.com.au is available under DAY TOURS and WHITEHAVEN BEACH in the drop down menu. Feel free to email bookings@airliebeachonline.com.au for further information and bookings.
