Southern Cross is truly a racing legend, being built for the America’s Cup Yacht as Australia’s 4th Challenger, with sail number KA4. While Southern Cross still holds the spirit of a racing yacht, considerable modifications have been made to make it comfortable for guests, with features such as a shaded cockpit and downstairs lounge area and guest bathroom.
Sail across the Whitsunday Passage, sail by Hook Island and through Hook Passage to arrive at Tongue Bay at around 11:00am.
Take a guided walk to the lookout over Whitehaven Beach and follow the path along a board walk down to the beach. Free time to explore the beach and enjoy the pure white silica sands.
In the afternoon, it is time to head back to the yacht for lunch. After lunch, you will motor over to Dumbell Island for a snorkel and swim on the amazing coral reefs.
Back on board, and its time to set sail and cross the passage heading back to Airlie Beach. Arrival time in the marina will be 5:15pm to 5:30pm.
The itinerary will vary, based on the weather and tides and professional judgement of the Captain. Sometimes, we do not make it to Hill Inlet, however we have terrific alternate weather option itineraries available.
