Segway Rainforest Tour
Ride your own Segway through the spectacular Conway National Park rainforest along the Whitsunday Great Walk. Surrounded by lush rainforest and flowing streams, our experienced tour guide will share interpretive commentary, highlighting the local flora and fauna and points of interest during the 9klm around journey.
Ride deep into the National Park rainforest and enjoy a delicious morning tea while relaxing by the crystal clear waters of Impulse Creek. A great half day tour of rainforest near Airlie Beach and my first time on a Segway. Did not take long to get the hang of it and the beauty of the Segway is you see lots in short time and no effort like bushwalking uphills. Only effort it is you just have to lean further forward to get the Segway going uphill. Tour guide Zac was helpful in training us on the Segways and informative about the rainforest. Pick up by minibus at Airlie Apartments and drop back at end of tour.

The Segway is a two wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle invented by Dean Kamen. It is produced by Segway Inc. of New Hampshire, USA.
Computers and motors in the base of the device keep the Segway upright when powered on with balancing enabled. Users lean forward to go forward, lean back to go backward, and turn by using a “Lean Steer” handlebar, leaning it left or right. Segways are driven by electric servos at up to 20 kilometres per hour. Gyroscopic sensors are used to detect tilting of the device, which indicates a departure from perfect balance. Motors driving the wheels are commanded as needed to bring the Segway back into balance.
