Whitehaven Beach is a 7 klm stretch of beach from the southern end of Whitsunday Island to the northern end, which is close to the Hill Inlet walk. Most day tours and the overnight sailing boats will visit the 7 klm long stretch, however some of the tours will visit the northern Whitehaven Beach close to Hill Inlet. They are both the same silica sand and you won’t have enough time to walk the beach or cross over from the northern end to walk to the southern end. When you are comparing day tours Mantaray, Ocean Rafting North will visit the northern end of Whitehaven Beach as they spend more time snorkelling on these tours. Whitehaven Xpress, Ocean Rafting South, Big Fury and Camira visit the southern end. Big Fury and Camira do not visit the Hill Inlet. Cruise Whitsundays has a Full Day tour to Whitehaven Beach where you will stay on the 7 klm stretch of beach for up to 6 hours and then part of the day, you will be taken to the Hill Inlet and a snorkelling stop as part of the tour.
Looking at the photo, the northern end and Hill Inlet is at the bottom of the photo, the swirling sands is off to the right and the 7klm stretch of Whitehaven Beach is at the top of the picture. When it is high tide you cannot get across from one end to the other and often you need low tide so you have plenty of beach to relax on. This is photo is with compliments of Heli Reef and their helicopter service to Whitehaven Beach. https://airliebeachonline.com.au/whitsunday-tour/scenic-flight-whitehaven-beach-escape/
